Sharing the hobby!

Episode 2 -

The Story so far.....

Sounds a bit like star wars does it not!   Let us rewind the clock back just over 3 decades ago to 1984 and the first toys that really captured my imagination - Transformers!  I won't delve too much into the story but enough to say that my first figure the Autobot Hound and the start of Marvels UK Comic was enough to get me hooked!

I followed the series nearly religiously until the Transformers Comic finished at number 332 in 1992 (I think). From there grown up life commenced in ernest. I always had a heart string tho for those toys I loved tho!

Then, around 2002, I got my first personal computer and introduced myself to Ebay.   To my amazement all those robots I never knew existed were to be found as toys!  The magic of image view on Google also showed me pictures and photos of all those "Bots" I had never seen and re-started  my love connection with my Transformers hobby!

Fast forward on 10 years and I had restarted my collection, and....

Created an online community on facebook with my brilliant friend.......

Become a regular visitor to the U.K Auto Assembly show...

Had become a part-trader ( I say part as it was only ever intended for friends)....

Been involved in an amazing youtube bi-weekly show (Autotrash)

And made friends and met thousands of brilliant people!

Now lets move on...

These blogs are to be about taking one of my toy collection and giving you my thoughts and feelings about the item in question, maybe even a short story or two to reminisce about the amazing memory's I have (at this point I would like to point out my english writing has never been the best and that I will attempt to not offend you by my grammar!)

At this time, the choice of Transformers are incredible, with so many different official and non-official companys and even custom creators out there, it is an incredible time to be a fan.  I think that these days my personal collection focuses around Masterpiece but I try to compliment it with some amazing offerings by the non-official third party creations! And in our era of high speed Internet then the dreams we had of importing figures from other country's are no longer dreams but real!

My collection tho is very random....... I love my G1 like I said and that's what I like to think its based on but the truth is theirs a lot of random in my dream!  And at this time my friends are starting blogs and having success with brilliant reviews and encouraged me to see if i have any creative juices and Outta The Glass prison was created!  Look forward to your thoughts and feelings (please constructive criticism is welcome)! I hope to bring you a blog once or twice a month, but remember I am a father of 3 and married man I find every second counts!

Just a few images, some will be terrified but the second picture is a detolf shared by my family and has been decorated as such....... and now I will stop waffling and start thinking of the next blog!  Let Outta Glass Prison to Desk commence!
